I put a great deal of time and effort into each session to achieve the results you are looking for. My work is not finished when our session is over. The cost of the service reflects the high quality of my work and the time I spend with you and on your images. The following prices are for acting & modeling headshots only. Please contact me for business and musician pricing. Please take the time to read the answers to frequent questions below. Chances are they will answer any questions you may have. If you have other questions then please feel free to contact me: Basic Headshots: $350 (total cost, no tax/shipping) Standard Headshots Package: $400 (total cost, no tax/shipping) Professional Headshots Package: $500 (total cost, no tax/shipping) Here is a quick movie showing an unretouched session: How do you work How do you work: I work with each person individually to create an image that is unique to them. When you get to the studio we will discuss the look you're after and discuss your wardrobe choices. The process is not one sided, your personality will bring out something in the photo that I would never have envisioned. We will work together to make the best photo for you. The studio setting can be intimidating for some so I do my best to make sure you are relaxed to let your personality come through. The shoot does not have a time limit, I will shoot until we both feel we have some great shots. During the session I will constantly show you the results as we shoot. You can then give me feedback on what you like and don't like and I adjust accordingly. You will be the only client in the studio during your time. Depending on the session you purchase you may have different looks available to you. This means that we can change backdrops, lighting, hair & makeup and outfits to give you a variety of photos to choose from. Do you do consultations: If you would like to meet before a shoot or discuss the shoot process I would happy to meet with you in person or have a phone consultation. Do you use artificial or natural light: For my headshot work I primarily use natural daylight. My studio has a large north facing window. Artists and photographers have long considered northern window light the best lighting. If you are looking for a more dramatic image, with more shadows and mystery I would then use artificial lighting to create a look that is more intense and dramatic. I am well adept at lighting and can create any look you are going for. Technical Details: I truly believe that you should pay no attention to the technical attributes any photographer may say they have. It is not the equipment the photographer uses that will make the photos great, it is the photographer. Having said that, I use only top of the line professional equipment. I vary the equipment I use throughout the shoot. My primary camera is a medium format Contax 645 with a Phase One P25+ 22 Megapixel digital back. As a backup I use a 16.7 megapixel Canon 1DS MkII. I doubt many other photographers you're looking at for headshots are using medium format equipment, but remember what I said: It is the photographer that matters, not the equipment. What is a master image: A master image is a final image that has been retouched, color corrected and made to look perfect. The image is then ready to be printed at any location you like. If requested it can include a layout with your name. The "additional images" in some packages are not retouched, but do get color and tonality corrections and do not contain a layout. Do you do b&w or color: I can do either. I shoot in color, but if you want the final image to be in b&w I can do that for you as well. Do you shoot in the studio or on location: The rates listed are for shoots done in my studio. I can shoot at any location you like. There are additional fees based on the location you choose so contact me if you have a location in mind or are after for a specific look. My studio is located in San Francisco with free and easy parking (Did you just say easy AND free parking in San Francisco... yes I did). It is a large studio with kitchen, bathroom, changing area, client lounge and more. Do you offer hair and makeup: Yes, I have a few different makeup artists that I work with all the time and they are great. The rate for the makeup artist, who also does hair, is $125 for them to be at the entire session. This fee would be paid directly to the makeup artist and I don't get any of it... they deserve it all. If you have your own makeup artist or know of one that charges less you are free to bring anybody you like to do your hair and makeup. You just want to make sure they have experience with doing hair and makeup for a photo-shoot. You must get at least the Standard Package to have hair and makeup at the session. Do you just do headshots: No. I love doing headshots because I think that actors and models are amazing people and I love working with them. Each person brings something of themselves to the photoshoot and I am constantly amazed with each person I work with. However In addition to doing headshots I do a lot of advertising and editorial work. My advertising and editorial work has been in Esquire, 7x7 Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, Playboy Magazine, The Village Voice, Bicycle Magazine, and many other national and international publications. To see some of my advertising and editorial work, along with some personal work, you can visit my other website: http://www.jeffsingerphotography.com Do you do testing or need models/actors: Yes, I do testing, but only with previous paying clients. I often have a need for actors or models on commercial/editorial shoots. I like to work with people I'm familiar with and know will work for the job. I often do test shoots for myself and may need someone who fits a particular type. If I've worked with you and you fit that type I would likely want to use you for these shoots. If I use you for a paid commercial shoot you would get paid a standard rate for actors/models, project dependent. So you might just make some money. You didn't answer this question: Then feel free to call or email me and I'll be happy to answer it. |
